Security Freeze Letter
You can use this tool to generate your own security freeze letter with an opt out request. By requesting a security freeze, you will eliminate the ability of credit companies to inquire into your credit report. This “freeze” will insure that if identity thieves attempt to open credit in your name, they will be unable to trigger an inquiry into your credit report. This freeze will indirectly make it more difficult for them to open credit in your name.
After the freeze is issued, the credit bureaus will give you a PIN code that you can use to unlock your report in case you need credit.
We don’t collect any data from these request letters and the responses can be emailed or downloaded directly to MS Word. If you need instructions on how to order your credit report, check out our page on How to Order Your Credit Reports . Feel free to call our office to discuss any errors you find at (888) 400-CREDIT | (888) 400-2733 or contact us through this site. In Michigan, you can reach our office at (248) 208-8864.
